Jack Layton congratulates Sierra youth

The House of Commons voted into law the first binding, science-based GHG reduction targets in the world effective post-Kyoto. While the Conservatives were filibustering bill-377 last month, members of the Sierra Youth Coalition rallied at the Committee hearings on three different occasions to witness the shameful behavior. Our final action was to stage an all-night filibuster sleepover at parliament, which received much publicity and contributed to the Conservatives' sudden change in strategy.
